Firozabad Horror: Body of 13-Year-Old Found on Rooftop

Firozabad Horror

Firozabad : A horrifying and deeply disturbing incident has come to light in the Tundla police station area of Firozabad, where the body of a 13-year-old boy was found lying on the rooftop of an under-construction shop. The child, identified as Mohit, was reportedly strangled to death, with visible injury marks on his head and face, sparking widespread shock and outrage in the region.

Strangled With Shirt, Brick Assault Suspected

The gruesome discovery was made near Subhash Chauraha on the Mohammadabad Service Road, where Mohit’s naked body was found near a pile of bricks on the rooftop. A shirt was tied tightly around his neck, indicating that it may have been used to strangle him. Police suspect that Mohit was brutally beaten before being killed, possibly with bricks, as he had deep head and facial injuries.

Victim Worked as a Ragpicker

According to police, Mohit, the son of Dinesh and a resident of Kaccha Tundla, was a ragpicker by profession. His family informed authorities that he had gone out the previous evening with his friends to visit a local fair held at the grounds of Thakur Veer Singh Degree College. The next morning, his lifeless body was discovered on the rooftop of a shop under construction on Agra Road.

Discovery by Shop Owner’s Mason

The shop owner, Rashtradeep Jain, told police that a mason working nearby spotted the body on the rooftop and immediately informed him. Jain then alerted the Tundla Police, who swiftly reached the scene. Senior Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit also visited the site, conducted a detailed inspection, and took note of the seriousness of the crime.

Police Launch Murder Investigation

Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Ravi Shankar Prasad confirmed that murder is strongly suspected, with all initial evidence collected from the scene. Multiple investigation teams have been formed, and the child’s body has been sent for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause and time of death.

“We suspect this to be a case of strangulation. Injury marks on the head and face suggest possible assault. All clues are being thoroughly examined. The perpetrators will be brought to justice,” said ASP Ravi Shankar Prasad.

Based on the complaint filed by the family, police have registered a case and launched a full-scale probe. Authorities are also questioning friends and acquaintances who last saw Mohit at the fair to gather leads.

Community in Shock

The brutal murder of a young ragpicker has left the local community deeply shaken, with growing demands for justice and security for vulnerable children. The police have promised swift action and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.

The incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for child safety and protection, particularly for underprivileged minors living and working in vulnerable conditions.
